Casegen Technologies Ltd is a UK company formed in 1991 to develop PC-based development tools for the IBM mainframe market that concentrate on COBOL-based solutions. Our emphasis is on building quality COBOL production systems in the simplest and quickest possible way and providing a future for sites using Telon.

Casegen develops and markets the Casegen family of products for COBOL developers. Casegen offers its customers the highest level of support with tools tailored to their exact needs, if required.

Casegen products are designed to improve programmer productivity by providing tools that speed the development process, increase quality, and reduce maintenance costs.

The traditional programming approach is to hand code every program. When a new program is created, an existing program is usually used as the skeleton. While the existing program serves as a model for the new program, valuable programmer time is still required to add and delete appropriate logic. Every line of code must be examined and tested. This approach tends to be error prone and time consuming.

The Casegen philosophy is different. Casegen's goal is to provide a framework that helps but does not restrict the programmer. Casegen uses advanced generator technology to dramatically reduce the time it takes to develop applications. A typical Casegen program contains very few handwritten statements, a large part of the code being automatically generated requiring little testing. Casegen generates very high quality COBOL code. Applications generated in Casegen are both run-time and royalty free.
